‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Is ANYONE Interested In Stephanie’s Stalker/Kidnapping Plot? Why the Repetitive and Predictable Storyline Isn’t Working

Alex and Stephanie

‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers suggest that the stalker/kidnapping drama involving Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) should be thrilling and suspenseful, having me on the edge of my seat to find out who is behind it.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: The Constant Threat Surrounding Stephanie Isn’t as Suspenseful as the Writers Think

However, I find myself mentally checking out whenever the scene switches to Stephanie and Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson). And it’s not that I have anything against Stephanie and Alex as a couple.

However, their storyline is based on this ridiculous trope about Stephanie’s obsessed fan and the constant “threat” to Alex and Stephanie’s relationship. Spoilers reveal that in the coming weeks, someone will chloroform Stephanie and drag her away.

Plus, how many kidnapping plots do we need on DOOL? It’s seriously leading to storyline fatigue, and for that matter, how many times has Stephanie been kidnapped?

This constructive criticism isn’t just about Owen Kent (Wes Ramsey) and repeating the time she was a target for EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerreigel). For those who don’t know, Ramsey is coming back to DOOL soon to play Owen.

Or even the fact that Stephanie was also the victim of a kidnapping when she was a child. The story simply isn’t nearly as exciting as the writers think.

Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Johnson’s (Mary Beth Evans) baby, Stephanie, was kidnapped by her nanny shortly after she was born and was later rescued. Now, Owen is set to return to Salem and kidnap Stephanie once again.

Only this time, he’s not doing it under EJ’s orders. He’s most likely the obsessed fan who

We like Stephanie as a writer. There aren’t enough writers and novelists in the world. “One Stormy Night” was amusing at first, but it’s turned into a vehicle to keep the stalker saga going and keep Stephanie in a perpetual state of distress.

I also feel that it’s way too obvious that the show is setting up Jeremy Horton (Michael Roark) as the one everyone will think is stalking Stephanie.

She and Alex were so quick to jump to the conclusion that Jeremy was the one who outed her as Anastasia Sands. Unless Jeremy hires Owen Kent to kidnap Stephanie, I’m not so convinced it’s he’s the stalker.

You know what would be a lot more fun and interesting? If Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) returns to town with Alex’s baby in tow to create REAL drama for the characters.

That story was dropped like a hot potato right when it was getting started. Stephanie and Alex still think that when Joy left Salem back in March of last year, she supposedly wasn’t pregnant with Alex’s child.

‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: We Need Joy to Return with Alex’s Child

Yet, the viewers have been wondering if and when Joy will return with her baby bombshell. It would be super soapy for her return to coincide with their engagement.

wants to steal Stephanie away from Alex. We can’t count on one hand the number of times Stephanie has been in peril.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Stephanie Deserves a Better, More Character-Driven Storyline

The writing for this storyline in particular is lacking in substance. The pacing is abysmal, and overall, it falls flat. It’s worth noting that, as a legacy character and the daughter of beloved supercouple Steve and Kayla, Stephanie deserves a much better, more character-driven storyline.
