Soap Vet Ashley Jones Joins the Cast of Beyond the Gates
Soap hopper Ashley Jones will be adding yet another daytime role to her resume as she joins the cast of Beyond the Gates! Although there are currently no details available as to which character she will be playing, or when viewers can expect to see her on screen, a spokesperson for the CBS soap tells Soap Opera Digest, “We can confirm Ashley Jones will be appearing in Beyond the Gates.”
Going Above and Beyond
Jones made her daytime debut playing Megan Dennison on Young and Restless from 1997-2000, and earned two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for her work. She then went on to play Dr. Bridget Forrester on Bold and Beautiful from 2004-10, returning for additional appearances over the years that followed, notching another Daytime Emmy nomination in 2024, this time in the Outstanding Guest Performance category.
From 2016-17, Jones moved over to ABC Daytime, where she played the recurring role of Parker Forsyth on General Hospital from 2016-17. The actress has also appeared in numerous prime time series like True Blood, 90210, and Major Crimes, as well as in movies like Homekilling Queen and Saving My Daughter.
Eagle-eyed fans first spotted Jones in a video posted to X/Twitter by BTG cast member Maurice P. Kerry (Randy) of the cast and crew celebrating the soap being renewed for two more seasons by CBS. The actress can be seen standing next to Kerry wearing the same black sleeveless top she has on in an Instagram Story where she was talking to the camera about still being at work after a long day. In a subsequent Story, Jones showed off her late-night pizza dinner, noting that she was “all by myself somewhere in Atlanta.” BTG tapes at Assembly Studios in Atlanta, GA.
The first new daytime drama since Passions in 1999, BTG premiered on CBS on February 24, 2025, and by May, had already been renewed for a second season. In April 2026, the network announced that the soap had been renewed for another two years, taking it through the 2027-28 television season. This role will reunite Jones with her former B&B co-star, Karla Mosley, who used to play Maya on that soap before taking on the role of Dani Dupree starting with BTG’s first episode.

In the latest developments from the world of daytime drama, the intricate relationships and tensions among characters have reached new heights. The emotional landscape is rife with conflict, particularly involving Derek, Ashley, and Grayson. After the dissolution of Derek and Ashley’s engagement, the fallout continues to reverberate through their lives. Derek remains deeply concerned about Ashley’s new relationship with Grayson, feeling an instinctual dread about Grayson’s true intentions. Despite having no claim over Ashley’s personal choices, Derek’s obsessive need to intervene creates a volatile atmosphere.
This impending confrontation between Derek and Ashley raises critical questions about control and protection. Observers note that Ashley, a skilled nurse adept at making life-altering decisions, appears alarmingly unaware of the potential dangers posed by Grayson. The narrative suggests that Ashley’s dismissal of Derek’s warnings may stem from a desire for independence, but it could also indicate a deeper psychological conflict. The stakes are high as Derek prepares to confront Ashley, and the audience is left to ponder whether she will heed his warnings or remain entranced by her new romance.
Meanwhile, in a parallel storyline, Smitty’s reckless behavior has strained his friendship with Detective Jacob. Smitty, an investigative reporter, compromised his ethical standards by accessing hospital records through Nicole’s laptop, a move that Jacob deemed a betrayal of trust. The tension escalates as Smitty unearths a new clue in the investigation, hoping to regain Jacob’s respect. However, the implications of Smitty’s earlier actions loom large, raising questions about the potential consequences of his unauthorized access to sensitive information.
Detective Jacob finds himself at a crossroads as he grapples with the repercussions of Smitty’s actions and the moral dilemmas they present. The weight of the investigation, coupled with his commitment to his wife Naomi, creates an emotional burden that complicates his professional duties. Jacob’s insistence on maintaining control over the investigation raises suspicions about whether he is concealing a more sinister truth from Naomi, who is already struggling with the emotional toll of their separation.
The dynamics shift further as the complex relationship between Donny, Andre, and Bill unfolds. A seemingly innocuous comment made by Bill during a phone call ignites tensions between Donny and Andre, revealing insecurities that threaten to unravel their new marriage. Bill’s casual use of a term of endearment for Donny in front of Andre not only undermines Andre’s position but also serves as a catalyst for confrontation. The interplay of past and present relationships complicates the situation, as Donny navigates her loyalty to both men while attempting to assert her role in the evolving family dynamics.
As tensions build, the characters are forced to confront their insecurities and the unresolved issues from their pasts. The emotional stakes are heightened as Donny and Andre grapple with their feelings of jealousy and the need to protect their relationship from external threats. The situation serves as a reminder that the remnants of past relationships can linger, complicating new beginnings and testing the foundations of trust.
On a different front, the unexpected camaraderie between Leslie and Vanessa emerges amidst the chaos. Both women, marginalized by their community, find solace in each other, though the implications of their alliance remain uncertain. Vanessa’s shift in perspective, as she distances herself from Nicole, raises questions about her motivations and the potential consequences of her choices. The dynamic between Leslie and Vanessa invites scrutiny, as it could either foster personal growth or lead them both into deeper isolation.
The narrative surrounding these characters is rich with complexity, where each interaction has the potential to reshape their relationships and futures. As the audience is drawn into the unfolding drama, the interplay of love, betrayal, and the quest for identity becomes a central theme. The characters’ choices will resonate beyond their immediate circumstances, influencing not only their lives but the broader community as well.
Lastly, the emotional turmoil experienced by the characters in these intertwined stories highlights the precarious nature of relationships. Each character must navigate their personal struggles while confronting the ghosts of their pasts. The impact of these choices will undoubtedly echo through the town, leaving a lasting impression on the fabric of their lives.
As viewers anticipate the next developments, the intricate web of relationships remains a focal point of intrigue, prompting discussions about love, loyalty, and the complexities of human connection. The evolving narratives ensure that the drama will continue to captivate audiences, inviting speculation and engagement from fans eager to see how these stories unfold.
