Bold & Beautiful Exclusive: Sydney Bullock Unpacks Dylan’s Complex Family Dynamics
From the moment that The Bold and the Beautiful revealed that Miss Dylan would prefer to live out of her car than reach out to her family in the Midwest about her dire financial straits, we’ve been curious. Are her relatives that bad? Considering we now know that one of them is Remy, maybe.
But portrayer Sydney Bullock tells Soaps.com that it’s not a case of Dylan’s folks being unwilling to lend a hand. “She just comes from such a different world than the Forresters and the Spencers, so even if she did tell her family [she was in trouble], I don’t know how much they would really be able to help her.
“I think she comes from a much more normal background,” she adds. In other words, less showroom to runway and more 9-to-5.
Dylan had another reason for keeping her unhoused status from her nearest and dearest, too — and you’ll recall that, at first, she also kept it from Electra and Will. “Dylan’s main thing is she doesn’t want to be a burden to anyone,” Bullock says. “So while it was embarrassing, I think she was stubborn and wanted to figure it out a way to make it out [of the red] on her own.”
Now, at last, Dylan has gotten back on her feet and is on the payroll at Forrester. So naturally, this is when a new problem has arisen for her. Though Remy was always her favorite cousin, she now has to look at him through a different lens, knowing as she does that he deep-faked Electra.
Making matters trickier still, Remy thinks of himself as at least partly responsible for Dylan’s reversal of fortune — and he aims to collect on the debt that he thinks she owes him. How? By pushing her to put in a good word for him with estranged beau Deke. Basically, tell Deke that Remy is a good person… which is questionable at best!
