There was no warning. No scream. No struggle.

Just silence—thick, unnatural silence—and then, Damian was dead.

Cain Ashby stood over the body, bourbon still glistening in its glass. Moments ago, they had been drinking, laughing, maybe even reconciling. But now Damian lay lifeless, a dagger buried in his chest. The surreal stillness was shattered only when Phyllis Summers burst in, heels like gunshots on marble.

“He’s dead,” Cain whispered.
“It doesn’t look good,” Phyllis replied, suspicion already clouding her eyes.

🩸 WHO’S TO BLAME?

The scene was damning:

Cain, alone with Damian.
A dagger Cain recognized from his personal collection.
Bourbon missing.
No signs of forced entry or struggle.

And Phyllis saw it all—but did she see enough?

Cain insists someone threw the dagger from the shadows.
Phyllis wants to believe him… but isn’t sure she can.

🚨 CHANCE ENTERS THE FRAY

Enter Chance Chancellor, summoned from the railcar lounge where he’d been with Devon and Abby. Calm, focused, and trained to see through lies, Chance examined the body—and the crime scene.

“Someone with skill could’ve done it from a distance,” he muttered.
“But if you didn’t see them… how do you know it was your dagger?”
“Because I know that hilt. It’s ceremonial. From my locked cabinet.” —Cain

Worse still?
When they returned to the body… the dagger was gone.

And so was the bourbon.
And the glasses.

Someone was cleaning up.

🔥 LILY SHATTERS

Elsewhere, Lily Winters searched for Damian, unaware of the nightmare unfolding.
Talking with Amanda in the moonlit garden, Lily admitted Damian made her feel seen… in ways Cain never did.

But then Devon and Abby arrived—faces pale, words clipped.

“You need to come with us.”
“Is it Damian?” Amanda asked.
“Come now,” Devon said.

Lily arrived just as the body was being wheeled out.
She refused Cain’s attempts to prepare her.
She pulled back the sheet.

And the scream that followed was visceral.

“No. No. No!”
“What did you do?” she demanded.
“You drank with him. You were the last one to see him alive.”

Cain pleaded his innocence.
But Amanda’s suspicion turned sharp.

“Who else had access to that dagger, Cain?”
“Where is the bourbon?”
“Where is the glass?”

No one had answers.
And now, no one trusted Cain.

“Did you see anything strange tonight? Sounds, shadows, anything?”

She’s clearly scared… but of what?

Devon watches her carefully, her jittery movements a red flag.
Phyllis may know more than she’s saying.

And now, she’s drinking.

💔 LILY’S COLLAPSE — AND THE HALLWAY OF HORRORS

The estate, once an elegant haven, is now a crime scene.
Lily peels back the sheet.
Damian’s lifeless face stares back.

“No, no, no.”
“Don’t try to handle me,” she sobs.
“Don’t lie to me!”

Amanda pulls her away.
Abby cries.
Devon looks ready to explode.

Cain just stands there—shattered.

But even now, something feels off.
Too clean.
Too quiet.
Too perfect.

Chance mutters it first:

“Whoever took that dagger… knew exactly what they were doing.”
