Nearly a Decade After Stepping Into Sally Spectra’s Stilettos, Courtney Hope Says the Fashionista “Has Earned a Little Respect!”

We still remember the day Courtney Hope joined The Bold and the Beautiful as Sally. The character was unmistakably channeling her legendary namesake as she strutted up to a bar and called Thomas (then Pierson Fode) “Bucko,” the same nickname OG Sally had called handsome young designer Clarke Garrison.

Believe it or not, that was on January 31, 2017… an astonishing nine years ago. “I think Sally has earned a little more respect lately over the last few years,” mused Hope when we chatted with her a few months ago. Certainly the version who now resides in Young & Restless’ Genoa City is not the same impetuous young woman who once chained a romantic rival to a radiator.

“I would hope some of the relationships have been mended,” reflected Hope. “Do I think all of them? Nope, there are some grudges to be held against Sally.”

One person who might reflect fondly upon — and even have unfinished business with — Sally? Scott Clifton’s Liam. “There was really not that much explored with Liam,” Hope recalls. “It was like ‘We’re potentially dying. Oh, I think I love you!’” But of course, at the time, Liam was already committed to Steffy.

These days, Sally is struggling to keep her relationship with Billy on track, which ain’t exactly easy! It probably doesn’t help that former (and potentially future) love Adam remains in the picture. “She knows what they had together,” says Hope. “She knows how special their relationship was. Even though she knew that he continued to love Chelsea through all of it, I think she will still die on the hill that they had something special and unique.”
