NEWMAN’S DOOMSDAY: THE ABBOTTS FINALLY LAND THE KI-LLER BLOW AGAINST VICTOR!

The New Year is off to a dramatic start on The Young and the Restless. This week’s video previews that Victor could be headed for a downfall, while another character’s life hangs in the balance. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s ahead for January 5-9.
Years of Waiting Finally Pay Off
Abbott fans, this is the moment we have been waiting for. After weeks of watching Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) mock Jabot as a “sinking ship,” the tables are about to turn in spectacular fashion.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and his son Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) have finally obtained the ammunition needed to take down the Mustache. And this time? Victor might not be able to slither his way out.
Spoilers confirm that on January 8, 2026, Kyle helps Jack get leverage against Victor. The very next day, Jack presents Victor with a shocking offer. Reading between the lines, this has “back down or face prison” written all over it.
The leverage appears connected to Victor’s use of a stolen AI program. Remember when Victor bragged about wiping out Matt Clark’s entire fortune? Yeah. That might have been a crime. A big one.
Victor’s Arrogance Comes Back to Haunt Him
Let’s rewind for a moment. On December 30, 2025, Victor confronted Jack and Billy Abbott at Jabot and openly mocked them. He called the company a disaster. He taunted them about their “downward spiral.” He was practically gloating.
The man genuinely believed he had already won this war.
But here’s the thing about Victor Newman. His arrogance always catches up to him eventually. Using stolen AI technology to destroy someone’s finances? That’s not just corporate hardball. That’s potentially criminal activity. And now Jack Abbott has the receipts.
Kyle Abbott deserves serious credit here. He told Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) that he would stop Victor “by any means necessary.” Those weren’t empty words. Kyle actually delivered.
The irony is delicious. Claire is Victor’s granddaughter. Kyle is dating her. And now Kyle just handed his father evidence that could send Claire’s grandfather to prison. Talk about awkward holiday dinners.
The Pressure Points Are Cracking
Victor isn’t the only one feeling the heat. Michael Baldwin (Christian Jules Le Blanc), Victor’s longtime attorney, has already admitted he hates the AI program. He told Lauren he hates that Victor has it.
That’s a significant crack in Victor’s armor. When your own lawyer thinks you’ve gone too far? You might want to reconsider your strategy.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) already refused to help Jack obtain the AI program, telling him she couldn’t go up against her husband. But what happens when Nikki learns exactly what Victor used that technology for? What happens when she realizes her husband committed crimes that could land him in federal prison?
The walls are closing in. Victor can feel it. And for the first time in a very long time, the Mustache has nowhere to run.
What Jack’s “Shocking Offer” Might Look Like
Let’s speculate for a moment. What exactly is Jack Abbott going to propose to Victor?
Given the leverage Kyle obtained, this sounds like classic coercion. Back off Jabot. Return the AI program. Stop the attacks. In exchange, the Abbotts keep the most damaging evidence quiet.
Victor Newman being forced to negotiate from a position of weakness? That alone is worth the price of admission.
But don’t be surprised if Victor tries to flip the script. The man has been playing chess in Genoa City for decades. He’s survived scandals, criminal investigations, and enemies far more dangerous than the Abbotts.
Still. This feels different. Jack Abbott and Kyle Abbott working together as a united front? With actual evidence of crimes? Victor might finally be in checkmate.
The Fallout Is Going to Be Massive
Whatever happens in that confrontation between Jack and Victor, the consequences will ripple through Genoa City for months.
Kyle’s relationship with Claire is already on thin ice. How does she react when she learns her boyfriend helped take down her grandfather? Does she choose Kyle or family loyalty?
Michael Baldwin faces his own impossible choice. Does he continue protecting Victor knowing the legal exposure involved? Or does he distance himself before the whole thing collapses?
And Victor himself? The Mustache has never been one to accept defeat gracefully. Even if he’s forced to make a deal with Jack, you can bet he’ll be plotting revenge before the ink is dry.
The Abbott-Newman war just entered a brand new phase. And this time, the Abbotts are finally winning.
