Beyond the Gates Recap for March 30, 2026: Tomás got caught in Hayley’s web

Here’s what went down Monday, March 30, 2026, on Beyond the Gates when Ashley’s suspicions were elevated, the Richardson-Smiths attempted a no-tech night, and Kat learned that crime podcasts don’t work the same in real life.
What happened on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, Martin was dismayed that his teens were so distracted on the family’s pizza night. Samantha was bothered that “Chessy” was outpacing her with cotillion prep, and Tyrell was bummed that he was doing so poorly with dance practice. Smitty came home, becoming intense when Martin questioned him about his work. After Smitty apologized, he and Martin worked to encourage Tyrell that Jessica wasn’t going to dump him for participating in the debutante doings that she didn’t even want to be a part of; the dads also assured Samantha that she had plenty going for her that “Chessy” didn’t.
When Smitty remained glued to his phone, Martin had everyone place their devices in a basket so they could proceed to playing a game. Samantha suggested a word association challenge she and Tyrell had seen on social media, but as notifications went off on the various phones, Smitty, Tyrell, and Samantha were unable to ignore them for long and devices were soon in hands, to Martin’s dismay.
Black widow, baby

Hayley recalled Lynette’s words about Tomás fishing for information about her. Seeing Bill’s pique at having been told Tomás was flirting with Lynette, Hayley laid it on thick and suggested that Tomás had sexually harassed a client. Bill summoned Tomás to his office and demanded answers; as Tomás denied any wrongdoing, Hayley insisted that it had seemed like Tomás was about to try to kiss Lynette. Was Tomás calling her a liar?
Tomás was barely able to navigate the waters with Hayley and Bill, who was appalled with the situation since he had personally assigned Tomás to the review board that had been created after squeaking past the harassment case against the firm the year before. Bill raged that Tomás had developed an ego despite not bringing in any new clients of his own, and if he didn’t shape up, Tomás would be out on his ass.
After Tomás slinked out of the office, Hayley worked to plant more doubts in Bill’s head about Tomás’s extracurricular activities and called for Tomás to be fired. Bill, who had seen how shocked Tomás was by the accusation, wasn’t ready yet to terminate him but promised Hayley he would keep him on a short leash. Hayley smirked to herself.
Kat was on the phone with Samantha from Uptown, in the middle of offering to be the girl’s “self-esteem coach,” when she saw Lynette enter the establishment. Quickly ending her call, Kat approached Lynette and complimented her on her coat, sneaking in a question about Hayley. But Lynette caught Kat, since she had seen a photo of Kat in Tomás’s office. When Kat shared her hunch that Lynette and Hayley were up to no good, Lynette acted wounded and feigned outrage that Tomás had unethically discussed her case with an outsider. “Later, Katie,” Lynette sniffed as Tomás arrived to join his girlfriend.
Both Tomás and Kat were more certain than ever that Hayley and Lynette were scheming, but Tomás begged Kat not to pursue it, since he couldn’t risk his career – or the help he was able to give his family back in Puerto Rico because of it – over whatever the women were in on.
Whatta man, whatta man, whatta man, whatta mighty good man
Naomi arrived home from work, staring wistfully at her wedding photo with Jacob. She texted him, hoping to get together, but Jacob declined, and Naomi settled into the couch, cuddling her picture frame.
In the Garland elevator, Ashley was becoming flirtatious with Grayson, with the disguised Jacob watching from behind. Sensing they weren’t alone, Ashley began to turn around, but Grayson pulled her into a passionate kiss before she could recognize her friend. Once at the nurses’ station, Ashley asked Grayson to dinner; Grayson curtly said there was something he needed to see to. Ashley was confused by Grayson’s contradictory actions.
Ashley called to check on Naomi, proposing an evening of take-out and talk when Naomi seemed down. Naomi fretted that Jacob might not even be alive, and Ashley wondered if Grayson had lost interest or was cheating on her, but the friends did their best to prop each other up in spite of their relationship woes.
Bo$$

Grayson met with Jacob in the alley, refusing to break up with Ashley, even after the close call. Jacob was equally concerned that he could end up running into Ted or Nicole at the hospital, so he suggested that they have their rendezvous location changed. When Grayson didn’t think that would go over well with his contact, Jacob accused him of knowing more about the person than he’d said. Grayson replied that he’d only ever exchanged texts with the person; when he sent a message about picking up the plasma somewhere else, he was told he could be replaced if he didn’t like the arrangements. Flustered, Grayson warned Jacob that his boss was no one to mess with – it was a mistake to rub her the wrong way.
After Grayson beat a hasty retreat, Jacob called Smitty and revealed they were looking for a woman. It was just a matter of narrowing down Garland Memorial’s female staffers.
