Y&R Recap Dec 8: Cane Vows to Destroy Phyllis After Uncovering Her Betrayal
On this episode of The Young and the Restless (Monday, December 8, 2025), Phyllis might have overplayed her hand this time… After trying to play innocent, she finds herself in the Cane’s crosshairs who knows exactly what she did with his AI software, while in LA, Victor offers Sienna a bribe and secures a ruthless victory to protect his family against Matt Clark.
The GCAC Dining Room
Jack and Diane sit in the dining room and talk over drinks, discussing Jabot’s shutdown. Jack has faith in what they’re doing to save his father’s legacy. He’s proud that Diane is fighting by his side.
Cane enters the club and sits down at the bar.
Jack thinks it’s amazing how the mighty have fallen… Cane had the world in his hands, and Victor wiped it out from under him!
Cane nods. He got what he deserved, but he’s happy with the outcome!
Diane asks how he could be happy. Didn’t he lose all his money?
Cane says he’s regaining his relationship with his kids.
Diane reminds him that Victor has his AI software, and it’s being used against the legacy companies in town.
Jack agrees and says that Cane will ultimately be held responsible.
Cane wishes there was something he could do to stop the AI. He admits he was negligent by not putting guardrails in place, but reminds them that he told them immediately when the software was stolen.
Jack tells him the best thing he can do is stay as far away from them as possible. They’re very aware of who their enemies are!
Cane smiles and leaves the dining room.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Adam walks into the lounge and sees Phyllis sitting at the bar, sipping a martini. He sits down beside her and says he’s glad to run into her… He has a message to deliver from his father.
Phyllis acts confused and says she has no business with the Newmans.
Adam raises an eyebrow. “You have business with Jabot.”
Phyllis asks Adam to deliver a message to Victor… She doesn’t want Victor to gut the company before she gets it… Why should she take over an empty shell? She asks when the AI software will be launched against Jabot.
Adam says they’re waiting for the perfect moment… They’ll attack at the Abbott Communications launch party. He says that it might not be prudent if Phyllis took over the company right away because it would point to her involvement in it.
Phyllis says that her agreement with Victor promised her the company. She delivered the AI, she wants the company.
Adam can’t give her a timeline, but things will accelerate at the launch party tomorrow.
Phyllis thinks Adam can’t be 100% onboard with “sticking it” to Jack… Even though Victor is his dad.
Adam sighs. He has his reasons, but they don’t concern her.
Phyllis thinks it’s relevant… If he has any allegiance to Jack, then he might try to sabotage the deal, and that wouldn’t be good for any of them!
Cane walks down into the lounge. “What could you two possibly have to talk about?”
Phyllis grins. “You.” She says she was just talking with Adam about Victor’s attack on Arabesque.
Adam shrugs. Phyllis doesn’t have any proof of Victor attacking Arabesque. He excuses himself; he has somewhere to be. He reminds Phyllis to think about his proposal, and leaves the lounge.
Cane wants to know what Phyllis and Adam were talking about. What proposal did Adam have for her? He wants to know the truth. Did she steal his AI software and give it to Victor?
Phyllis says that she didn’t steal the software.
Cane says he doesn’t believe her; he knows she stole it, and yet she’s still lying to him after all the chances he’s given her to come clean, so he knows he can never trust her. She’s always just looked out for herself, and then she stabbed him in the back. He’s going to make her pay.
Phyllis looks apprehensive. “What’s that mean?” She doesn’t think he has any leverage; he has no assets or power. His word in town is as empty as he is!
Cane says he moved on from her a while ago; he knew Phyllis was looking out for herself. He didn’t get what he wanted, but neither will she. He’ll sabotage every chance she has of taking over Jabot, and once he destroys that dream, he’ll make sure she’s never employed anywhere ever again!
Phyllis smirks. “Good luck with that.” She figures Cane was just baiting her and plotting her downfall while he slept with her.
Cane says that his offer of partnership was sincere, but she blew it by not admitting to stealing his AI software. She’s going to regret not trusting him!
Sharon’s Hotel Room in LA
Nick, Noah, and Sienna arrive at Sharon’s suite. Victor and Sharon greet them enthusiastically.
Noah apologizes to Sharon and wishes he’d listened to his parents about Matt Clark.
Victor asks Sienna where her husband is.
Sienna says she has no idea where Matt is. She has problems with his “new” name. She says Matt was following them, but then drove right by.
Nick thinks they’re not safe until Matt is behind bars.
Noah wonders why Matt stopped following them.
Victor grins and tells them that Matt stopped following them because he threatened to decimate his business. He admits that he transferred Matt’s assets to a private Newman account, and Matt has no money anymore.
Sienna wonders where that leaves her. Matt is her husband, and he’s destitute!
Noah thinks she should come back to Genoa City with them. She’ll be safe there!
Victor asks Sienna to go have a drink with him while the family talks. He and Sienna leave the room together.
Nick wants to know what his son was thinking.
Noah says he got Sienna into this mess, and now he needs to get her out.
Nick can’t believe Noah wants to bring Matt Clark’s wife home with him. Matt wouldn’t be able to stay away from Genoa City!
Noah shrugs. Let Matt come to Genoa City, then!
Nick shakes his head. He says that Matt told them that Sienna had gotten Noah hooked on fentanyl.
Noah tells them that’s a lie. He trusts Sienna implicitly, and she’s not involved in Matt’s dealings.
Nick asks what he intends to do about Allie.
Noah doesn’t want to talk about that… Things haven’t gone so well for him in London, which is why he’s been looking into LA.
The Shadow Room
Matt runs behind the bar, pours himself a drink or two, and calls his accountant, asking him to check his accounts. The accountant tells him that they’re empty, and Matt slams his phone onto the bar. He yells, “Victor Newman, you sonofabitch!”
Matt calls Annie and leaves a voicemail. He needs to know what’s happening! He pours himself another drink and fumes.
He looks at the wedding band on his hand and begins to pull it off, but it’s stuck, so he keeps it on.
He takes another drink and starts sobbing. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Annie, and he asks what happened with Detective Burrow.
Annie shrugs. “You don’t want to know.” She tells him that Burrow got the better of her, but she got away before he could pin her down. She doesn’t think that either of them should hang around the nightclub… It’s not safe here; the whole police force will probably be there soon, looking for them.
Matt says there’s no money; Victor used an AI program that stole all his money! He figures he’ll have to get some type of leverage over Victor while he’s on the run… Something they’ll never see coming!
The Hotel Cafe
Sienna and Victor have a seat in the hotel’s cafe. Sienna wants to know how Victor bankrupted her husband.
Victor grins. Whatever he wants to have happen… Happens! If any member of his family gets hurt, the perpetrator has to deal with him. Matt Clark won’t be able to buy a cocktail, and The Shadow Room is no longer his. Matt will probably be behind bars tomorrow!
Sienna says she’s shocked. As long as she’s known Mitch, he was riding high on a fortune that he said he made himself! She thought the money was from the clubs he owned, but now she’s learned that it was because of his fentanyl empire. She wasn’t a willing accomplice! She’s disgusted in herself that she depended on such a twisted man. It makes sense that he sold drugs, because she got high on his attention.
Victor nods. Matt is a master manipulator!
Sienna says she knows Noah wants her to go to Genoa City with them, but she saw the look on Noah’s parents’ faces. What’s she going to do, since she doesn’t have any money?
Victor says he’s willing to compensate her and asks her to name her price.
Sienna gets the feeling that Victor is trying to bribe her to stay away from Noah.
Victor smirks. He says his offer of support is unconditional.
Sienna isn’t sure she believes it, but she’ll take his offer… He wiped her out, too. She wants to know what happens with The Shadow Room.
Victor says The Shadow Room now belongs to Noah. His offer is a bribe, though. He wants her to stay away from his grandson; she’s a magnet for trouble!
Sienna appreciates his honesty, so she’ll do the same for him… When she started distancing herself from Mitch, she promised herself that she wouldn’t allow anyone to bully her or buy her. She does what she wants, and Noah can decide whether he wants her in his life or not!
The GCAC Dining Room
Jack and Diane put on their coats and prepare to leave. Jack thinks they’ll win the fight against the AI.
Adam walks over and asks how they’re doing.
Jack says he’s doing as well as can be expected after hearing about Cane and Arabesque. He hopes it’s not a harbinger of things to come! He asks Adam to give Victor a message for him when he gets back from LA… “Better luck next time!” He leaves the club with Diane.
Sharon’s Hotel Room
Victor and Sienna return to the hotel room. Victor makes a call and arranges for the Newman jet to be ready for them. He wants to leave immediately.
Noah asks Sienna if she’s going to come back to Genoa City with them.
